United Carpets are the second largest chain of specialist retail carpet and floor coverings in the UK. With a turnover, of more than £70 million their franchise model has allowed for strong growth. They are members of the BFA and publically quoted since 2005.

  • Designed and implemented the marketing engagement strategy (including Television, Radio, Press, Door Drops, DM, Outdoor, PR and Digital) programme tracking and evaluation systems.
  • Successfully implementing a marketing revenue stream from the group’s franchisees circa £4million pa.
  • Implemented substantial cost savings by negotiating much-improved deals across all media and print platforms.
  • Increase in footfall by 30% and store sales by 53% by introducing strategically planned extra discount days.
  • Developed eCommerce website functionality and optimization, growing online sales by 100%
  • Implemented and grew online marketing channels (incorporating email marketing, SEO, PPC & Social) to drive traffic to the site, increasing social engagement and addressing customer service issues. This resulted in improved customer satisfaction of 35% and increased online sales by 15%

Responsibilities

  • Developing and managing promotions, marketing campaigns and customer communication strategies for 85 group and franchised stores. 
  • Managing multiple agency contacts, internal teams and printers to deliver on time and on budget.
  • Creating and developing promotional campaigns delivering the key brand messages across all media disciplines, Television, Radio, Press, leaflet drops and online.
  • Managing customer analysis and market information providing clear customer insight aiding marketing/brand strategies, product targeting and new store locations
  • All aspects of in-store marketing, point of sale (process, development and execution), in-store look and feel creating compelling shopping environments for customers.
  • Organising large international annual conferences for European suppliers and Franchise delegates
