  • Manheim Europe Group – European Marketing Manager. September 2000 – April 2003. Reporting to the Managing Director.
    Manheim is the European market leader in the provision of automotive services, with an unrivalled range of products, services and expertise across De-Fleet Services, Remarketing and Retail Services.
    Manheim is responsible for the sale of nearly 500,000 used vehicles every year to trade buyers and the public via private, public and online auctions.

  • Created and implemented new marketing systems and introduced planning into an inefficiently run department.
  • Initiated and managed a highly successful cost saving programme for all media and print.
  • Introduced above the line advertising and a comprehensive Direct Marketing campaign for the B2B environment.
  • Delivered strategic marketing plan for cyber auction web site. Increased subscriptions by 20% with direct mail marketing campaign.

Responsibilities

  • Managing a team of 20+ including an in-house studio and telemarketing department, for the marketing functions in the UK, France and Spain.
  • Database management, ensuring the database was up to date and accurate at all times.
  • Created and implemented bespoke marketing campaigns for Fleet providers, Vehicle Franchises, Dealerships and Manufacturers (including Hertz, First National, Inchcape, Lombard, G E Capital, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Seat, Volkswagen)
  • Support the development of new product propositions including concept generation, naming, research and design.
  • Managed catalogue production and advertising for DVLA personalised registration auctions.
  • Supported the sales team with marketing strategies and ideas when presenting to new clients.
  • Responsible for organising exhibitions/events and corporate entertainment across Europe.
